Do you know the shuffle high heeled run?
Where you usually chasing after your children and hoping they dont fall into the indoor pond and Bass Pro Shops?
Yeah, that was me this week. Carrying all the random crap while I keep the kids from burning down the store, as my husband eyes turn all anime while floating around like a kid in a candy shop. All in all the trip was grand! The kids saw Santa Claus, decorated cookies and got to color Frosty the Snowman. PLus the hubs picked up his Christmas presents:)

Apparently I'm on a Willy Wonka kick.
First thing my sister says to me is " Oh! Well Hullo Mrs. Willy Wonka!"
I LOVE IT HOMESLICE!
The colors are ROCKIN, I mean a little bright, and very FALL.
But for a trip to the library it was perfect.
Are you loving my kiddos in the background?

I'm a Lil Ole Lady

IMG_6612IMG_6611
Sweater: Dress Barn
Blouse: Thrifted
Skirt: Thrifted
Tights: target
Booties: Old Navy
Necklace: Thrifted
This outfit might not look like much, but for some reason I was totally digging it, then the hubs randomly comes home and catches me outside taking pictures, and he ACTUALLY says " You look hot, babe."
Now I'm all about ANY compliment I get from my hubs, but I was disturbed by the fact I looked like a lil ole lady.
So does that mean I will be rockin his boots when we are 80 years old?
Oh dear, heaven help me.

The All Week Upload Thrift Post

IMG_6743IMG_6742
All WEEK this post has taken me.
All the live long week.
Have you ever gotten so frustrated over something, that you just want to cry?
Lightroom and I have been battling all week with each other. It has simply refused to upload my pictures to Flickr for me, and now I have been left to doing it the old school way.
Bah-Humbug!
But on a happier note, how cute is that turkey?
Since Thanksgiving I have become obsessed with turkeys. I dont even care that the season is over for it, he is going to hang out in my kitchen and watch me clean dishes!
He (I should name him...) was waiting for me at Goodwill along with that rad 1957 piece of bowl?
My husband asked me why I purchased it.....
Um, because its old?
hehehehe.

Coming Soon: The Paper Bag Skirt Tutorial

The Paper Bag Skirt Tutorial
Did you think I forgot?
NO!!!!
I have been dreaming about it! Seriously I have, then this morning 3 people ask me about it. We all must work on the same frequency :) Been tossing it around in my mind now for a couple weeks. But can I say I've been a sucker on what fabric I've been wanting to use...
I was going to send out a poll asking if a video tutorial was preferred, then I brought it up to the hubs and he said "Of course everyone will want a video tutorial".
So thats what I will be doing! There will be directions to read and also to watch.
So get ready!
You will need:
3/4 inch elastic (length will be the measurement of your waist)
1 1/2 yards fabric
 sewing machine
coordinating thread.
THRIFT YOUR FABRIC: (unless you have some treasured fabric that will be perfect for the job) Head to your local thrift store and dig through the BEDDING area. Thats where I find all my fabric, I sometimes even use bedsheets if the print is what I like. Or head over to the dress section and find a dress that is 2 sizes larger and restyle it! I like maxi dresses because there isn't to much detailing and plenty of fabric to work with.
The tutorial will be up by this weekend. Going to attempt to make the video during naptime, but I don't know how well that will work out, so I might need to wait till Friday and have the hubs be camera man.
I'm so EXCITED!!!

A Girls Day Out

Oh the relaxing joys of a girls day out.
And when I say day, I mean ALL day. 9-5 baby.
The best part is that we didnt realize how late it was. That shows how great of a time we were having.
Started with thrifting through Carmel, then made our way through the Monterey Peninsula stopping at every thrift store on the way.

First stop was some breakfast though :)

My favorite part was the Carmel thrift shops. I had only heard of them from my dear friend Denice, but I was so lucky for her to actually show me them today!
They were darling.

Why darling? Because they served an endless amount of cookies, brownies, cupcakes and sparkling cider. I definitely didnt feel like I was shopping, rather at a party with a bunch of cool trinkets around.
As for trinkets, I did find one today. It was sitting there waiting for me.

A teapot stove!
I thought this lovely thing was to precious to leave behind. How unique! I havent seen anything like it.
My other roundups from our thrifting adventure was a belt, fabric and sweater. I felt I did pretty well. Though I would have like to have walked away with more :)
LUNCH BREAK!

Been to Ericks Deli?
Today was my first time. Oh my yum yums, DELISH!
We had to refuel for more shopping.
Our last stop was The Del Monte shopping center which is like an outdoor mall.
Found a SUPER CUTE store that I have always avoided in fear of the prices being horrendous, but they were actually GREAT.
The last purchase of the night was made my Denice....

Did your jaw drop?
Yeah, mine did when she showed me. 50% off. My heart would have broken if she had not purchased them. So many possibilities.
So I had a GREAT time.
One happy woman right here.
And Denice, I hope you have dreams of elephants in sequin ruffled heels
